What does it do?
The Detailed Sales Dashboard is the next-generation replacement for the legacy GSS dashboard, designed to provide a clearer, more user-friendly experience based on direct user feedback.
Key improvements include:
- Simplified layout: Events are now sectioned vertically down the page for easier navigation and readability
- Enhanced filtering: More detailed event filters including venue and start time, with sorting by start date (ascending)
- Improved usability: Cleaner report structure eliminates the need for horizontal scrolling and makes data easier to interpret
In addition to these upgrades, the dashboard provides:
- A full breakdown of ticket types, allocations used and remaining
- Metrics on ticket activity including returned, resold, and reissued tickets
- Aggregated data views per event or across selected filters
This updated tool offers a more intuitive and comprehensive way to explore ticket sales data, helping teams make informed decisions with greater efficiency.
Why use it?
Track overall revenue: See total sales, net payments, and outstanding balances across all events or a selected date range
Monitor ticket volume: Understand how many tickets were sold, reserved, refunded, or comped
Evaluate pricing and demand: Compare ticket types and price categories to identify trends or opportunities for adjustment
Inform strategic decisions: Spot patterns in sales performance that can guide marketing, scheduling, or pricing strategy
Who uses it?
Venue Manager or Festival Operator - The Detailed Sales Dashboard is built for venue managers and festival operators who need a clear, actionable view of ticket performance. Replacing the legacy GSS dashboard, it offers improved filtering by venue and start time, a streamlined layout for easier navigation, and detailed breakdowns of ticket types, allocations, and activity—including returns, resales, and reissues. Whether you're tracking sales trends or planning future events, this tool helps you quickly identify what’s working and where adjustments may be needed.
Promoter or Event Partner - The Detailed Sales Dashboard helps promoters assess artist performance across events by filtering on artist name and tracking ticket sales over time. If ticket volume is rising but net sales remain flat, the data may suggest an opportunity to adjust pricing strategies. With detailed breakdowns and flexible filtering, the dashboard supports smarter decisions around artist bookings, pricing, and promotional efforts.
How to use it?
About the Table Combined Fields
When developing the improvements to the Detailed Sales, key feedback was to mimic the look and feel of the GSS. In order to accomplish this while maintaining minimal table width, we've created two merged fields. These fields are ‘Event’ and ‘Ticket Type [Allocation Group] {Ticket Price}’. These fields are critical to the success of the design and usability of this dashboard.
Expanded View & Filtering:
Data Download
Dashboard is currently in the BETA tab
You can download data from the Detailed Sales dashboard in a few different ways, depending on how much detail you need.
Download from tables (quick export)
Most tables and visuals allow you to download the data currently displayed:
- Click the three dots (⋯) in the top right of a table
- Select Download data
- Choose your preferred format (e.g. CSV or Excel)
This will download the data exactly as shown in the table.
Download full datasets (Data Download tab – BETA)
For larger or more detailed exports, you can use the Data Download tab.
This option is ideal when:
- You need more than 1,000 rows of data
- You want the full dataset behind a table, not just what’s visible on screen
To use this:
- Navigate to the Data Download (BETA) tab
- Locate the relevant table
- Click the three dots (⋯) in the top right
- Select Download data
- In the download options:
- Choose “All results” to include the full dataset
- Select “As displayed in data table” if you want all available columns
Note: Large datasets (e.g. high-volume events) may take a little longer to download.
Extra features
Scheduling - Scheduling only applies to the whole dashboard. See scheduling how-to for more info. For example, set up a scheduled to send the dashboard daily/weekly to people who want to monitor the returns/resale counts for upcoming shows.
Alerts - Alerts are unique to tiles (each visualisation/table) and should be set by the client. They allow a user to be notified by email at a certain time when a condition has been met. See alerts how-to for more info. For example,(using the top summary table), set an Alert to be notified when 'Sum Allocation Remaining (any)' Is equal to '0'. Indicating an Event Sell-out .
Downloading data - Data can be downloaded in a variety of methods. See downloading how-to for more info. Most visuals and tables have more underlying data than shown on the dashboard, click "As displayed in data table" for this data. e.g.
Viewing Downloaded Data in .CSV - If you have downloaded the Event and Ticket Type Detail table to view in Excel, you can extract the values in the combined fields to separate venue, allocation group or ticket price using this formula: =TEXTBEFORE(TEXTAFTER(cell reference eg, A1,"[,1,0),"]",1,0)
Note: Replace "Cell Reference" with the corresponding field you want to separate such as the field in your excel file that contains the Venue, Allocation Group, or Ticket Price.
Limitations
Is there anything important that this cannot do?
- Cannot schedule individual tiles to be sent (i.e. visualisations or tables), only alerts can be sent which require the recipient to access insights to see the data.
- Cannot set default filters
- Cannot carry filters across to other dashboards (unless using drill through for event name, in which case the selected dashboard will filter to that selected event)
Does this need to be implemented by a Team?
- These dashboards are available for all control room clients
- Special permissions (organisation and promoters) need to be configured manually by the tech team and the data analyst
- Overarching organisations: provide central accounts access to all clients within their account, aggregated within insights. e.g. Merivale
- Promoter: provides specific people access to a mix of events and clients, aggregated within insights. e.g. CLBR
Does this have a Paid component or a Cost associated with it?
- No
Does this functionality need approval?
- No
