Every Moshtix order with a valid mobile number now includes a complimentary SMS event reminder — no opt-in required. Get your tickets via email and receive an automatic reminder with everything you need for event day, delivered straight to your phone.
What (does it do):
All eligible Moshtix orders (where a valid mobile number is entered) include a complimentary SMS event reminder sent ahead of the event. Fans no longer need to opt in — the reminder is automatically sent to the mobile number provided at checkout. Tickets are still delivered via email confirmation; the SMS serves as a timely reminder with key event details and a ticket link.
Why (use it):
- Receive an automatic reminder with your ticket link ahead of every event — no action required.
- Reduce the chance of missing or forgetting your event with a timely SMS reminder.
- No more searching through emails on event day — your ticket link is one tap away.
Who (best events/time to use it):
This is available to all fans on all events within eligible countries.
Key highlights
- Complimentary by default: Every fan receives a free SMS event reminder on every order — no extra cost, no opt-in required.
- Attendance confidence: Backed by data showing a ~5% reduction in no-shows for orders with SMS reminders, this ensures more fans arrive prepared and on time.
Reduced support contacts: Fans arriving with their ticket link already in hand means fewer last-minute support contacts for lost or missing tickets.
Requirements & Limitations
Is there anything important that this cannot do?
- SMS is only supported for Australian and New Zealand numbers. Other international numbers will still receive tickets and event reminders via email.
- SMS messages are not customisable and will include the Event Name and Event Date within the SMS character limit.
- Event names that exceed 35 gsm characters will be excluded and replaced with a generic message.
- SMS messages do not apply to Complimentary tickets issued via the Moshtix Control Room as mobile numbers are not captured.
Does this need to be implemented by a Team? No, this is enabled on all events where supported.
Does this have a Paid component or a Cost associated with it? No. SMS event reminders are now complimentary and included automatically with every order at no cost to the fan.
Event Reminder SMS timing: The Event Reminder SMS will be sent at the interval set on the event under "Reminder Emails".
How (to use):
Enter a valid mobile number during checkout. An SMS event reminder will be automatically sent to that number ahead of your event — no opt-in required. Your ticket confirmation will still be delivered via email.
FAQ's
Q: Can I have my event reminder sent to international phone numbers?
No. SMS reminders are currently only available for Australian and New Zealand mobile numbers. Fans with international numbers will still receive their tickets and event reminders via email.
Q: Does it cost me to receive an SMS event reminder?
No. SMS event reminders are now included complimentary with every Moshtix order. There is no additional cost to fans.
Q: Are the SMS messages customisable per event or client?
No, the SMS message templates are standard across all clients and events. Event Name and Event Date will be included in the SMS within the character limits.
Q: I received an SMS that did not have the event name in it?
Events with names longer than 35 gsm characters cannot be populated within the SMS while staying within the character limit. In these cases a generic template is used to include the event date, order number and ticket URL.
Q: What happens if my tickets are suppressed?
If any or all tickets in the order are not yet available, the Booking Confirmation email is sent along with a link to the tickets. Available tickets can be viewed and scanned, and messaging is displayed to advise that additional or all tickets will be made available closer to event day. Your Event Reminder SMS will also include the Ticket link to view any available tickets, with messaging to advise that additional or all tickets will be made available closer to event day.
