We’ve expanded our platform’s language support to include a wide range of Unicode characters, enabling accurate display of Māori macrons and other international alphabets. This empowers organisers to create respectful, inclusive event experiences that honour te reo Māori and other languages.
What (does it do):
This feature enhances our platform’s language capabilities by enabling full support for Māori macrons and a wide array of Unicode characters, ensuring accurate input and display of international languages across all event pages, emails, tickets and reports.
Why (use it):
This update allows event organisers to accurately display Māori words with macrons and other international characters across their events. It supports respectful use of te reo Māori as well as other international languages, enhances cultural inclusivity, and ensures a seamless experience for attendees and organisers alike.
Who (best events/time to use it):
Event organisers: Those creating events that include Māori or international languages, especially where names, performers, or locations use non-English characters.
Fans: When entering their personal details during checkout can now use characters from their native languages.
How (to use):
Since the implementation of multi cultural language support is backend, there is no change to event set-up. Except that now you can copy/paste or use alternative keyboards to enter in characters that belong to any language that doesn't use the english alphabet or uses macrons.
- Create or edit your event as usual.
- In any text field of the event build add in your content using unicode or macrons eg: Taupō, Fréjus, 검은색, สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครซิดนีย์
- Save your changes. Macrons and unicode will be preserved and displayed correctly across all event pages, emails, tickets, and reports.
