Before you get started make sure you have a Moshtix Client account, Zapier account, and MailChimp account ready to rock.
Log into Zapier and select ‘Zaps’ from the menu.
Click ‘Create Zap’
Click ‘Trigger’ on the first step and select Custom from the left menu.
Click ‘Webhooks’
Click the dropdown for ‘Trigger Event’
Select ‘Catch Hook’ and ‘Continue’, then ‘Continue’ again.
Click the ‘Copy’ button and navigate to the Tracking page in your Moshtix Client account.
Click the ‘+PIXEL ID’ link on the Zapier Webhook tile, paste in the Zapier webhook URL, toggle the ‘Apply tracking to all events’ option, and click Save.
Navigate to manage events and create a test event with a $0 ticket.
Don’t approve the event, but instead copy and open the preview URL
Select 1 or more tickets and complete checkout making sure to subscribe to marketing updates for Moshtix and partners.
Switch back to Zapier and click ‘Test Trigger’
Click ‘Continue with selected record’
Find and select ‘MailChimp’ from the list and login using your MailChimp credentials.
Enter your MailChimp username and password and click ‘Log in’.
Click ‘Allow’.
Click ‘Action Event’ drop down.
Select ‘Add/Update Subscriber’ and click ‘Continue’
Select the Audience from your list of audiences in Mailchimp.
Map Subscriber Email to Email
Map First Name and Last Name
Click ‘Continue’
IMPORTANT - DO NOT SKIP
Now we need to add a step that checks if the customer has subscribed to marketing.
In between the Catch Hook and MailChimp steps, click the + symbol.
Select Flow Controls -> Filter
Add the values to match below so that we only send to MailChimp if ‘Email Subscription’ exactly matches ‘true’.
Click ‘Continue’ and confirm you see successful green test messages indicating that the filter is configured correctly.
Click ‘Continue’
Click ‘Continue’ and ‘Continue’ again.
Click ‘Test Step’ and confirm test was sent to MailChimp
Log into MailChimp, navigate to Audience and confirm you can see the test record.
