The Basics - What is a Pixel?
A pixel is a small piece of code placed on a website or webpage to track user activity, interactions, and conversions. It functions as a tool for tracking which allows marketing teams to gather data on how users engage with their online content.
What Are Server-Side Pixels / Conversion APIs?
Some of the pixels that we support offer both a pixel that tracks in a user's browser and a connection to an ad platform's servers (or "Conversion API"). Conversion APIs create direct connections between our website and the servers of ad platforms like Meta or TikTok to enable better attribution of marketing and complement the measurement of our regular browser pixels. Conversion APIs are currently optional for Meta, TikTok and Snapchat.
