What (does it do):
Moshtix's complimentary tool allows users to issue any ticket type on their event as a complimentary ticket to one or many recipients. No more duplicating ticket types to create Complimentary Tickets (unless you prefer to have a separate allocation - See our handy guide on creating Complimentary ticket types here). A simple and efficient way to issue tickets and manage complimentary tickets; you can issue tickets at any time before or during the event as needed.
Why (use it):
This tool can be used for a variety of reasons, Issuing promoter or artist hold tickets, issuing tickets to guest list attendees if you don't want to manage a manual guest list, or even issue tickets in bulk for large functions and sponsored table events, or to owners, managers and members.
Who (best events/time to use it):
The ticketing admin person or the person managing the issuing of complementary tickets. You must have an Admin account access to issue.
How to Issue Complimentary Tickets to a bulk list of recipients.
In Moshtix Control Room:
- Navigate to "Complimentary Tickets" from the menu
- Select your event using the Event search dropdown.
- Select the "Bulk" tab
- Download the .CSV template for your event (see below information on how to use the .CSV Template)
- The template has all the events ticket types populated so ensure you download the template specific to your event.
- Fill in the template with mandatory field information.
- Save and Upload the .CSV template into the importer.
- Choose a Delivery Method:

Send tickets; will send a Booking Confirmation to each email address in the .CSV file with the ticket's included.
- If the order has less than 10 tickets, and the event is set to send PDF's. Each ticket will be attached as a PDF.
- If the order has more than 10 tickets, and the event is set to send PDF's. A link to download a .ZIP file will be in the email body.
- If your event is set to digital ticket only; all emails will have a "view my tickets" button to view and access the digital tickets.
- Generate barcodes; suppresses the sending of tickets and will send the logged in user generating the order an email with a link to download a .CSV of the ticket details with barcodes.

- Your order will be processed and a pop up will appear to confirm that the order is being prepared.
- Click Done to close.
Once the uploaded orders have been processed, you will receive a summary report (to the email address connected to your user) detailing the successful orders and a .CSV of the generated orders with links to the PDF ticket. You'll also be notified if there were any errors in your order.
How to use the .CSV Template:
The event tailored .CSV template supports flexibility with how it can be filled in. The below columns can be organised into any order if you prefer, however the file must include these mandatory columns:
- First Name
- Last Name
- At least 1 ticket column with ticket type information from the selected event. You can deleted unrequired Ticket Type / ID column headers but they must not be edited.
The On Ticket Message column is optional to include or enter details for, This is only supported on Digital Ticket formats.
Bulk Order handling:
Orders are grouped by the email address entered into the .CSV, Rows that contain the same email address will be grouped into 1 order. Each ticket will still display it's unique name.
FAQ's
Q: How do I search for and manage Comp tickets?
You can still search for and manage complimentary tickets, including resending, cancelling and downloading barcodes from 'Comp Tickets - Search in the navigation'.
Q: How do I report on issued tickets?
Complimentary Tickets are all available to report on within our Insights Dashboards, including as separate data in all applicable Sales based dashboards.
Q: How will my recipient receive my tickets?
Your recipient will receive an email to the email address entered when issuing the tickets.
Single issued tickets and Bulk Issued Tickets will send a Booking Confirmation email to the recipient.

When choosing to generate barcodes, the logged-in Control Room user will receive an email with the .CSV attached. This can also be accessed by searching for the order in Comp Tickets - Search and downloading the Barcode file.
Q: How do I create tickets to issue as comps?
All tickets created in an Event Build are eligible to be issued as Complimentary Tickets. Tickets issued as Complimentary are taken from that ticket types total allocation.
If you want to manage ticket allocations specifically. You can still create ticket types as Comp only Tickets and just issue those through the tool.
